Human eyes aren’t designed for handling rapid transitions from dark to light to dark again. The G5-01 TW welding lens uses an intermediate shade 5 light state to help minimise eye strain during extended tack welding applications. If an arc is not struck within 2 seconds the welding lens will switch back to its TrueView light state (shade 3).

The Heavy Duty Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)

The Speedglas G5-01 TW comes standard with the new heavy duty Adflo for 12 hours powerful respiratory protection – giving it 50% greater run time than the Speedglas 9100 FX Air. With rapid charge, the battery charges from 0-80% of its full capacity in approximately one hour.

As one of the most popular PAPR’s in the world, the Adflo respirator has become synonymous with welder’s respiratory protection. The powerful Adflo motor provides increased comfort and safety for all day welding.

The Adflo powered air respirator conforms to Australian & New Zealand Standard AS/NZS1716 (respiratory protection), and offers a required minimum protection factor of 50 for thermally and mechanically generated particles. This means the air you breathe will be at least 50 times cleaner than if you were unprotected.

Filtered air is evenly distributed throughout the entire breathing zone of the welder, thanks to an exclusive airflow pattern. The intelligent turbo motor maintains the airflow rate at a constant level. For maximum comfort, a diffuser spreads out the airflow pattern.

Worn around the welder’s waist, the Adflo unit allows for full mobility. The slim respirator profile makes it perfect for welding in tight spaces. The system has recently been reduced in weight by a further 15%.

The advanced Quick Release Swivel (QRS) is designed for one handed connection and release. The self-adjusting length means the welding hose is always kept close to the welder to prevent snagging on surrounding objects.

With the right type of respiratory filter, the Adflo respirator can effectively protect against both particles and gases – an important safety feature. Indicators assist the welder in knowing when to change the Adflo filters and to charge the Adflo battery.

Regardless of the battery’s charge or the particle loading of the filter, the Adflo system always maintains a constant flow rate of 170 litres per minute.
